Downsized...
So, girlies, just found out that I'm getting canned (along with all the other freelancers) from my job. Wednesday is my last day.Looks like I'll be taking a break from dating for a while--it's too expensive being single!
Any ideas for how to make a quick buck? Unfortunately my class schedule is pretty rigid, and I don't think I'll be able to find a freelance gig that is that flexible...

Oh wow..I'm so sorry. I've been there. I'm sorry. Hmmm make a quick buck? After I was let go I found an assload of stuff that I didn't need anymore and sold it on Ebay. You'd be surprised at how much junk one can have.
Bartending! It's my lastest add-on money maker. If you are cute, you can clean up. Go for it!

As for the bartending, joy, it's something I've thought about--but it's super hard to get into here. Any ideas?
Sorry to hear about loosing the job Kristin, I've been there myself. Why don't you try a temp agency, like Manpower, or something similar? They have jobs to suit almost any schedule, and it can keep the wolves at bay... good luck!
Focus groups are a quick way to make a buck. I look for them on craigslist.
Oh my ... canned?? Are you serious? And they only gave you a 2-day notice?! This is terrible. :(
Quick money? Let's see ... I tried both the bartending thing and the temp stuff when I needed extra cash. I've never done Ebay, but I know a few people who totally cleaned house and raked in the cash doing it.
It probably sounds trite, but seriously, good luck. Losing a job sucks ...

Sorry to hear about the downsizing Kristin... but don't be knocking phone sex chica.
I did that for about 6 months between theatre gigs.
Not only does it pay better than a retail job (no set up, clean up, stocking shelves), I have great stories and it has lead to 2 potential writing gigs and a teaching gig ("phone sex for fun").
Phone Sex? How does one get into that?
I'm really wondering if I can get into that S&M gig from a few months back. But they never contacted me.....
