Okay, some of my single girlfriends don't believe me (okay, maybe just Roxy), but this is why you should NEVER wear any type of ring on the left ring finger if you're single. Boys can be dumb.

Sine my grandmother passed away a year and a half ago I've worn her engagement ring on my RIGHT finger. It is absolutely amazing to me how many men can not tell right from left these days. The number of times I've been asked about my fiance, I can't even count.
Just don't wear:
1. An engagement ring or
2. Any sort of ring on your left ring finger.
Among the reasons why not: There are places in the world where wearing an engagement ring on the right hand means you are in fact engaged, but that it is not a catholic union. Also, I have seen some god awful engagement rings in my time. One of my buddy's former roommates proposed to his girlfriend with a ring that had three pinkish stones (I seriously doubt they were any sort of diamond) and the kicker? IT WASN'T EVEN A CLOSED RING!
Now I don't think that you ladies should have to suffer due to the ignorance and bad taste of others, but there are things we can't control in this life. And there are things we can control. Why make an already confusing process more confusing?
if i am going to a bar with my girlfriends and i am Not Interested in being hit on my shady men, i will wear a faux engagement ring on my left hand because nothing gets a sketchball away faster than a flask of the left hand bling. and some men just don't understand that sometimes it is possible for a girl to be out in public who is NOT looking to be hit on/picked up.
